Management Responsibilities
Senior management at France Removals has overall responsibility for health and safety within the company. Management will:

Provide appropriate resources, including time, equipment and training, to manage health and safety risks effectively.
Carry out and review risk assessments for all significant activities, including manual handling, working in customers premises, vehicle movements and use of lifting equipment.

Employee Responsibilities
Every employee of France Removals has a duty to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their work. All employees are expected to:
Follow company safety procedures, instructions and method statements at all times.
Use vehicles, tools, lifting aids and protective equipment correctly and only for their intended purpose.
Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions and equipment defects to their supervisor without delay.
Cooperate with management on all health and safety matters, including attendance at training and toolbox talks.

Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work
France Removals undertakes risk assessments for its key activities and uses the findings to develop safe systems of work. These assessments include, but are not limited to:
Manual handling of furniture, boxes and heavy or awkward items.
Use of trolleys, dollies, ramps and other handling aids.
Loading and unloading vehicles at residential and commercial properties.

Our staff are briefed on relevant risks before each job, and team leaders are responsible for adapting safe systems of work to the specific conditions at the site, including access, weather and traffic considerations.
Manual Handling and Use of Equipment
Safe manual handling is critical to our business. France Removals will:
Provide training in correct lifting techniques, team lifts and use of mechanical aids.
Encourage the use of trolleys, barrows, lifting straps and other equipment to reduce strain.
Plan work to minimise carrying distances, awkward postures and lifting above shoulder height.
